Retract and leave awnings closed through winter storms. Extend on a dry, still day occasionally to check the fabric is dry inside the cassette.
Snow on roofs
Glass roofs are engineered for snow loading for their location. Louvered roofs should be set to the recommended position so meltwater clears.
Heating and screens
Infrared heaters and zip screens are what turn a winter structure into a used one. Check screen channels are free of grit before the cold sets in.
