A clear and accessible work area is one of the most important factors for a successful veranda build. Preparing the space before our team arrives saves time, protects your property, and allows the installers to focus entirely on the precision work of building your new structure. Taking a little time in the days before the fit goes a long way to ensuring a seamless experience.
Clear and Secure the Patio
Your patio needs to be free of all furniture, potted plants, and ornaments in the immediate work zone. Even if the space seems large, the team needs room for tool boxes, assembly benches, and the physical space to move and lift components safely. Moving fragile items to a secure location inside prevents any risk of accidental breakage.
Ensure Safe Access Paths
The route from our vehicle to the patio must be clear of obstructions, including garden hoses, trailing wires, or low-hanging branches that could snag on components. If the route involves narrow side access, ensure any gates are unlocked and the path is wide enough for the frame components to pass through without grazing walls or fences.
Pet and Family Safety
A building site is an active area with tools, parts, and potentially heavy materials. Keeping pets and young children away from the work zone is essential for their safety and allows the team to work without constant distraction. Planning a safe, alternative area for pets for the day helps significantly.
Protecting Sensitive Surfaces
If you have recently laid new patio stone or delicate decking, let us know beforehand so we can discuss using protective boarding. While we take care in our work, standard protective measures ensure your surfaces stay in pristine condition regardless of the intensity of the installation.

Do I need to clear the whole garden?
No, just the immediate work zone and the primary access route from our vehicle to that spot.

We do our best to minimise mess, but covering the main access route with protective matting is a good precaution if your garden is soft.
Can I leave my washing on the line?
It is best to remove it, as the installation area needs to be clear of any potential snagging points or debris.
How much space does the team need around the veranda?
Ideally, at least 1-2 metres of clearance around the proposed frame site for tool and material storage.
